*About Me & The Site*

Welcome to my webpage:) I am glad you stopped by to visit. This project is two college semesters in the making and will be a work in progress for a long time to come.

As humans, we have always been interested in the world around us. It is a world full of wonder, beauty, and amazement. What amazes me the most in the world we live in are animals. Animals of all kinds are here for us to discover and enjoy.

However, most people miss some of the most diverse and abundant of all animals: insects!

This webpage is devoted to one of the most diverse insects in the entire world. The ant is stepped on, disregarded, rarely thought of, and yet offers so much for humans to learn about. I must admit, though, that I have not cared as much about the ant as I do now.
As an honor student at my university, it was expected of me to complete a research project in my major field in order to graduate from the Honors Program. My major was biology, therefore I wanted to do something with animals of some sort. I spoke with a highly regarded professor and he suggested I do something with ants since he had just begun his interest in them, as well. Soon enough, I was researching current knowledge, collecting ants, pinning and identifying them, and building this webpage.

Much hard work and many long hours have made this project what it is today.
I hope you enjoy the site:)
